I do not sew and the following project took me some time to complete. My whole nursery is somewhat inspired by my cousin Alex's nursery from my childhood. My dear Aunt Laurie did such a beautiful job. The theme was bunnies and I remember the cutest carrots being on the bookshelf as part of the decor. That beautiful room has always stayed with me. I knew I needed carrots of some kind to decorate my nursery as well. A friend found the inspiration for the carrots on Pinterest.
The carrots were created by Clare at Clare'scraft.blogspot.com. Mine are no where near as cute as hers and I can barely sew but I did my best. Please go to Clare's blog for the full tutorial here.

My camera broke and my card was ruined so I lost a lot of pictures and do not have a lot for this post.
I used two different patterns of floral light orange fabric for the carrots and a dark green for the leaves.
I followed Clare's tutorial and cut out my templates out of sturdy poster board
I then outlined with a pen my area to start stitching over
I stuffed each carrot and gathered three leaves for each carrot and sewed an edge around the inside, gathered the three leaves with thread and began closing the top of the carrot with bottom end of the leaves inside the stuffed carrot.
This is where I lost the rest of my photos.
I ended up making five carrots and sewing fifteen leaves to make my bunch of carrots
My last step was to sew a piece of ribbon around each carrot and then wrapped the bunch with one large bow. The ribbon covers up the thread used to gather the leaves and the top of the carrots together.
The bunch of carrots completed ~
Have a lovely day!
Here is Olivia with the carrots in one of her newborn photo from last June. So adorable!!

Impressive! They turned out super cute. I love how they look in Olivia's infant picture.
Speaking of sewing...I think I'm going to buy a machine...
Hi Jamie! I love that your nursery was inspired by a room you once loved. Your cute carrots turned out really well! I'm so sorry your camera and photo card went on the blitz. What a bummer!
So cute, Jamie! I love that you made these for Olivia's nursery even though you say you do not sew. You did a great job and that's a mother's love! : )
