Thrift Finds: Table & Basket

Hello, lovely friends!

finally finished my little $7 dollar table from Weekend Pickers.
I had a very hard time deciding what color to choose. I do a lot of white so I constantly want to do something different, but I always seem to go back to that tried and true color.
At first, I spray painted the table a darker sage green color. I kept it like that for a few weeks, but I just needed it to be lighter color in order for me to be in love with it.
I also thought about finally going for it and doing a transfer to the top of the table, but since we're moving in a few short weeks I just decided to leave it for the time being.

In case you don't remember what the table looked like when I originally bought it, you can go to my post here about all my finds at Weekend Pickers.

I love the scalloped design of this table. Really scratching up the paint on those types of areas for more definition is a favorite look of mine.

The circular design in the top center of the table is also the sort of embellishment that's always fun to distress. You can really see all the sanding, scratches, and scraping on the legs of the table in this photo.

I bought the iron basket at a Salvation Army store for $4 dollars. The color wasn't actually too bad to begin with, just a little too much gold for my taste.

I'm really into the iron basket thing lately. I like the look of filling a more industrial looking item with pretty things like vintage books, old doilies, grapevine, and yarn decorations.

Anyway, I spray painted the basket several colors before deciding on the Antique silver paint by Glidden.

I actually sprayed it green, white, brown and light blue first. I distressed the whole thing so that the blues and the rest of the colors would come through a bit. I love how it finally turned out!

Anyway, that's a little look at my soon to be packed away belongings...

Hopefully, before I move I can have my posts ready about the antique  lawn sale that I went to this past weekend and the shutters that I painted for my living room decor.

Have a lovely day!

The metal basket looks great! Good contrast for the table and chair. Love the entire setting. . .

Jamie, your little corner of finds are awesome! Oil rubbed bronze is my go to color. However I do have a shabby chic room in white wicker and pink.

What a great little table, Jamie! I love the scallops, too. Moving day sounds close now. Love your metal basket and the goodies you put inside it, too. Looking forward to seeing your other projects. I was doing projects up to the time we left our house! Crazy, but it helped me from overthinking leaving our home of 21 years.

Hi Jamie,
Fantastic table! I love it in white :-) I always think I will paint something a "color" but white always wins :-) What a great price too!

Hi Jamie! What an adorable table and I love how you've styled this sweet little corner of your home! The basket is lovely and as much as I have resisted it, I am enjoying a little bit of industrial here and there mixed with the soft pretties too! Have a wonderful week!
Best Wishes and Blessings,

WOW! What a transformation! I popped over to see the before pic and the after looks sensational! You really can't go wrong with white. The basket is too cool! I really love old iron pieces and love the way you paired it with the "soft" pretties. :-)
