The Dress
~*~

My dress was taffeta. When I first saw the dress I fell in love with all of the pick~ups decorating the skirt. I think it had such an elegant design! I had the cap sleeves made out of the wrap that came with my dress. They felt a little more timeless than the strapless dresses everyone wears now.

I also loved the button design down the back, It made the dress look a little more vintage and old fashioned

The champagne color became a theme throughout the whole wedding once I bought my dress with this sash.

Broaches really started getting big at the time

I just love how my hair turned out!

The Style

I always refer to my wedding as shabby chic country. We were married in a very simple church and had our reception at a park.

Galvanized buckets full of hydrangeas were another theme throughout.

I love the rose buds in butter dishes.

Champagne ribbon on the programs

The wedding invitations too

My father~in~law and my husband actually tied most of the bows on the programs and invitations. Such talented men!

Left over roses and hydrangeas saved for the cake

My bouquet of champagne roses and blue delphiniums

The Reception

Being presented for the second time as Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Asper

(Yes, that's a Mountain Dew in my husband's hand)

We actually stopped at a gas station on the way to the reception. I did not go in, I guess the lady at the register thought my husband was crazy, and he is...The guys loved it though!

I sigh whenever I see all the beautiful wedding pictures on Pinterest and I wish it had existed at the time. I could have done some amazing things with the head table and the fireplace!

Our beautiful wedding cake ~ it was just delicious!

Cutting the cake

Smashing the cake!

Nate insisted on smashing the cake. It was one of his few requests. Turns out it's lots of fun, I don't regret it at all!

The happiest day of my life ~

From this day forward,
You shall not walk alone.
My heart will be your shelter,
And my arms will be
your home.

Happy Anniversary, Jamie! Your wedding was beautiful. Love the use of hydrangeas and that color blue. Your dress is gorgeous! Looks like you had great weather, too. My daughter gets married in 3 short weeks so it was fun looking at your pictures and getting in the wedding mood!

Happy anniversary, Jamie! How fun to see your wedding photos! What a beautiful day you had! My husband and I are celebrating 11 years this summer. I was just thinking to myself while looking at your lovely photos; gosh, I don't have any digital pics of our wedding. If I was going to do a post like this, I would have a lot of scanning to do. That makes me feel kind of old! Haha! Thank you for your sweet visits and comments on my blog! I love hearing from you! Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
Best Wishes and Blessings,
Amanda

I kinda teared up looking at this post! What an awesome day it was. Not stressful or anxiety filled like a lot of events like this. You were such a beautiful bride and Nate of couse was and still is a stud ;) Don't tell him I said that.. or he might start to think I like him, rather than simply put up with him! hahaha **Favorite pictures are the one with dad and Isabel in black and white, his serious look while holding a child's book! So cute! The picture of the back of you and Nate walking into the reception is gorgeous as well as the bubble one :) And of course the one of you and Nate kissing with cake all over your faces! What great memories!
