Hello Friends,
I have been working on quite a few craft projects from blogs that I originally found through Pinterest, blogs that I now follow religiously. So, they're not really Pinterest projects they're actually blog copycat projects!
I found this idea from a beautiful blog called Loveoffamilyandhome.net. Tonya has a gorgeous style and lots of great crafting projects on her sight. You should follow her blog! You can find the link to her original creation here.
I bought this little oval frame from a Salvation Army store for $3 dollars. Cleaned the wood and removed the glass.
Rustoleum painter's touch spray paint in heirloom white is my new favorite paint of choice!
The letter was less than a dollar at Michael's and I already had the burlap left over from my burlap wreath project. You can view that project here.
I spray painted the wood twice on the frame and the A monogram.
I cut out my burlap piece and sprayed it with Elmer's spray adhesive to the cardboard backing that came in the frame, and let it dry for a few minutes.
In the meantime I sanded the edges and stained it with cherry wood finish by Min-wax. I have to say that this is the best wood that I have ever worked with for sanding, I need to find more furniture and frames made out of this stuff! This was also the easiest sanding job with the spray paint that I've ever experienced. The finish is so nice and smooth without the paint brush marks that you may find you won't even want to do the glazing part. The white is absolute perfection left alone! I can't say enough about it! I'm working on another framing project that I spray painted on the same day, and even bought at the same time as this frame that I'm not going to glaze. That was a huge thrifting find day. That project is a post for another time though...
The completed mini version of my own monogrammed "art"!
(I used a small amount of wood glue to attach the A to the burlap backing)
I put this on display with my Grandmother's pictures
A fun, inexpensive, and super cute project. I can say that 'cause I didn't invent it!
Love,

I love the way this turned out, Jamie! It's got such a nice vintagey and distressed look that suits the pictures you placed it with. Heirloom White is one of my all time favorites and I always keep a can of the spray paint on hand. I bought a quart once but the coverage isn't as great.
Hi Jamie,
I love your monogram project. I use lots of burlap in my business, and now I have a great project for all of those extra pieces of burlap I have stored away. These would make great gifts!
This looks great!
