Planning for the Nursery ~

Hello, lovely friends!

I'm sure many of you are enjoying spring weather where you live. We have snow here in good ole' West Michigan. It looks and feels like December just in time for the first day of spring.

Last week we had really nice spring weather and it got me in the mood to finally go out shopping to start decorating for the nursery.

My favorite antique store, Changing Thymes, opened up a second location and I found these cute little items while checking out both stores this past weekend. They were $9.99 each. Not a great deal but not too expensive either.

Another plan for the nursery, along with lots of bunny decor, is to paint a dresser and bookshelf that I already have with white paint. So, I finally did it! I bought my first can of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint! I'm excited at the prospect of painting furniture again. I've missed it a lot!

I'm going to paint everything in Old White and then paint the dresser drawers and the back of the bookshelf in Provence mixed with Old White. I saw a sample at the store where I bought the paint and it should turn out a pretty light sage green color.

I cannot wait to get started on this painting project!

Right now the only thing I'm missing is the clear wax. I'll be purchasing that as well.

I've also started purchasing items at Michael's and Hobby Lobby to begin making some craft items. Here's a sneak peek at some picture frames, matting, and book pages that I've cut out and framed together.

I'm so thankful that my Dad has given me so many old library books over the years. Nothing beats free!

I'm also going to modge podge the baby's name, Olivia. with the same library books I used for my framing  project.

It's going to be similar to the nursery rhyme letter that I made for my niece Zooey last spring, just with smaller letters since it will be her full  name.
You can see my tutorial for the letter here.

I also found this little guy yesterday for a dollar at a thrift store.

We will hopefully buy the paint this week for the walls of the nursery. I'm thinking something neutral. Right now the room is still bright green and purple from when we moved in.

Yikes! These are some terrible colors!

Wish me luck on getting started!

Much Love,

How exciting, Jamie! You are going to have a lot of fun pulling the nursery together. Love the idea of the framed Peter Rabbit prints. I think a neutral {and calmer} color on the walls is a great idea.
